Pitch your boldest and most radical dreams for downtown Oakland at East Bay AIA this September 20th at 5:30pm. Using a 9x9' scaled model of downtown Oakland and legos, this unique game night calls on those curious about urban design and development to build the city they wish to see, together.
Both an educational experience and a platform for innovation, Oakland 2100 is a game for individuals of all ages to learn about the urban planning process, collaborate with others, and express their own ideas about the direction of Oakland’s future. It asks participants to work together to construct a model of their collective vision of future Oakland while also learning how to negotiate with others, prioritize issues, and manage finances. Join us for an exciting and interactive evening of shaping the future of our wonderful city!
This event is part of the exhibition, Oakland 2100: A Game About the Future of Oakland. The exhibit is on view September 18th-October 4th.
